Purpose: The intent of this solicitation is to promote research on the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the hypersecretion of mucus and mucus cell metaplasia in human airway diseases.

Term/Amount: The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) intends to commit approximately $3,750,000 in FY 2003 to fund approximately 10 new and/or competitive continuation grants in response to this Request For Applications (RFA).
