Purpose: The primary objective of the Specialized Centers of Research (SCOR) programs is to foster multidisciplinary basic and clinical research enabling basic science findings to be applied more rapidly to clinical problems. The basic and clinical research to be supported through this RFA will be related to one of the above two categories. It is expected that results from these SCOR grants will have an impact on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of sleep and cystic fibrosis. This RFA is the second and final 5-year solicitation for these two SCOR programs.

Term/Amount: Each NHLBI SCOR program is limited to 10 years of support. Exceptions to this policy will be made only if a thorough evaluation of needs and opportunities, conducted by a committee composed of nonfederal experts, determines that …
