Cancer Collaboration Set to Launch “Universal Portal” Site for Researchers and General Public

Washington Fax reported on September 12 that NCI staff had told the National Cancer Advisory Board at a September 9 meeting that a national comprehensive cancer control web site will be launched in January 2003 as a result of collaboration by the NCI, the CDC, and the American Cancer Society. The Plan, Link, Act Network (PLANET) web site is designed to provide a “universal portal” through which researchers and the general public can interact with the various components of national cancer control efforts, NCI Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences Assistant Deputy Director Jon Kerner explained to Washington Fax reporter Natalie A.
